Time to make an entrance.....

I unpack do the usual room rituals take ash owner, dress and make my way to the lobby. The first thing i want to do is head to the bar for a real Pina Colada. Surprisingly the outside patio is devoid of people.i sit in one of the large, cane chairs and order a drink. Wow, they know how to make a drink here. I quickly feel the effects. I sit back relax a bit and watch the parade of people go in and out of the hotel. After a brief rest, I ask for the bill which comes to $4.50. Amazing, a drink nowhere near as good as this on the Cayman Islands was $11.

I walkover to the tour desk to see about reservations to the Tropicana nightclub. Maribella the concierge who remembers me from last time greets me with a nice welcome back. We walk over to a set of chairs to sit for a chat. I asked her if she would call this Vintage Taxi driver, Miguel who I met the last time I was here. As I finished my sentence, I glanced up an who do I see coming onward me but Miguel. We shake hands and hug. The Cuban people at warm and friendly. I mention to him that I want to see a baseball game. He tells me tomorrow nigh hire is a playoff game between a team that is considered the Cuban Yankees. I mentioned to him if he would like to go and he gladly accepted. We decided to get to the park at 6pm. He will be picking me up at the hotel at 6pm as it is ten minutes away.

I make my way back out to the patio bar order a Daiquiri and sip my drink smiling and feeling good to be back. Sure enough it OK all of a minute for the waiter to inform me that with my hat I looked like Mafia. I give him a look like I am lost so he begins to give me a seminar on the history of the hotel and Lucky Luciano. He mentioned that I should take the history tour of the hotel. Now, I know I'm back".........
